Ummm the full body Tabata kicked my butt Thursday morning!
So, I heard someone say something the other day in my boot camp class that got me thinking. The instructor was talking about fueling our bodies with good healthy food all the time and not stuffing our faces with garbage after the workout. Then we heard,
“I only workout so I can eat junk food.”

This got me thinking…
Is this a good reason to exercise?
Don’t get me wrong, I definitely indulge from time to time and there might be times after a weekend of said indulging that I work out a little extra hard on Monday. However, I don’t justify the foods I eat based on my time spent at the gym.
To me, that doesn’t seem like the best relationship to have with exercise.
I think that one should find some form of pleasure in exercising other than working out only to eat that extra slice of pizza or have the second helping of cheesecake.
Personally, I workout for many different reasons,

None of which includes being able to eat more food. There was a time when my diet did drive my exercise a little more. You know back in college when the repeated nights of beer drinking and late night slices of pizza started adding on some unwanted extra pounds. However, I have since learned that there are much more important reasons to maintain my fitness and it truly makes hitting the gym so much more pleasurable Image may be NSFW.
